Last two Saturdays I have tried to go into the realms of Nostalgia...to restablish my "Bong Connection" with Phootball..Maane ...with the happenings in Moidan...
Last Saturday I watched the EB vs MB match on TV..the full 90 minutes ...EB(or KEB,as it is called now) beat MB(or MMB) 3/0...the "oldie" in myself was trying to relate to the happenings which has happened some 30 years ago which " 1977..if I am correct..is the year when EB bt MB by 2 goals in the Calcutta league...Mihir Bose & Samaresh Chowdhury..scored the goals....relayed by Ajoy Bose and Sukumar Samajpati over the air....But the scoreline ws going towards repeating the present EB coach's "deke-deke Goal deoa" in 1975...
The rude shock which brought out the stark periodical difference was absence of Bongosantans in the both the teams..many may find this sentence "parochial" but the truth is that even in football,Bongosantans have become a "football watcher"..at most a "football lover" but are no more a" footballer"
